Lentil Soup

1 1/2 lb ground beef
3/4 cup barley
3 cup lentils
6 tomatoes
6 cup water
1 bay leaf
3 carrots
3 stalks celery
3 cloves garlic
3 onions
3 cups beef boullion (3 cubes)
Basil and thyme (1 tsp. each)<
1 1/2 tsp. salt
Brown ground beef in large pot. Drain fat, add barley and lentils, add water, add beef broth. Cook for 30 minutes. Chop onion, carrot, celery and garlic; add to pot. Add tomatoes, add bay leaf and basil, thyme; cook for 1 1/2 hours. Add pepper to taste.
