Moist Chocolatey Brownies

1/2 cup margarine or butter
3 squares unsweetened chocolate
1 1/4 cups sugar
1 tsp vanilla
3 eggs
2/3 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup chopped nuts
Over low heat in saucepan, melt butter and chocolate, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat; ad sugar, vanilla and eggs. Beat well. Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Add to chocolate mixture, stirring until well-blended. Add nuts if desired. Spread in greased 9" square pan. Bake at 350°F for 25-30 min. Cool. Frost if desired. Cut into squares.
