Cherry Chocolate Cookies

1 cup margarine
1 cup icing sugar
1/8 tsp salt
2 tsp maraschino cherry juice
1/4 tsp vanilla
2 1/4 cups flour
1/2 cup chopped maraschino cherries
48 milk chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 325°F. In a large mixing bowl, beat margarine for 30 seconds until fluffy. Add icing sugar and salt. Beat until combined, scraping sides of bowl occasionally. Beat in cherry juice and vanilla until combined. Add flour next, then stir in cherries. Shape dough into balls and place 2" apart on cookie sheet. Using the bottom of a glass, dip in sugar and flatten the ball. Repeat for all remaining. Bake 14 minutes per batch. When cooked, before removing to rack, place a chocolate kiss on top of each cookie, pressing slightly into the cookie. Allow to cool on rack.
