Aunt Martha's Blackberry Pie

8 cups blackberries
4 cups flour
4 tsp baking powder
Pinch salt
1/2 cup shortening
Place blackberries in cooking pot. Add water and sugar to taste; boil until berries are cooked. Melt shortneing. Mix flour, baking powder and salt; make hole in the middle. Add melted shortening, and enough water to make easily rolled dough. Take half of dough, roll the size of pot's diameter; place dough in pot and push down into jam. Take other half of dough and roll to same size. Make hole in centre of second half with finger. Put holed dough on top of first dough. Cook for 15 to 20 minutes or until done.

Is this like a apple cobbler? I'm trying to imagine what this pie will look like when it is baked. Sounds delicious. Perhaps we could use blueberries for this recipe too? Thanks!
