Broccoli Almondine

2 heads of broccoli, cleaned and cut into florets
1 cup butter
3/4 cup slivered almonds
1 tsp fresh garlic, minced
Salt and pepper
Steam the broccoli until it is nearly cooked through, but still slightly firm. Melt butter over medium heat in a large frying pan. Add the almonds and cook, stirring often, until they take on a golden colour. Add the garlic, stir to combine and remove from heat. Add the hot broccoli and toss to evenly coat it with the butter/nut mixture. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Makes 4-6 servings.
