Rhubarb Pickles

4 lbs rhubarb
2 1/2 lbs onions, chopped
2 lbs sugar
1 1/2 cups vinegar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. tumeric
1 19-oz. tin tomatoes, drained chopped
Red green peppers, chopped - enough to add colour to pickles
Boil rhubarb, onions & vinegar for 20 mins. Add remaining ingredients & cook for 1 1/2 hours. Put in jars & seal.
